Do you have a friend who’s about to get married? How about you organize her the best bridal shower ever? You don’t have to spend a lot of money if creativity is your strongest suit. Here are 10 bridal shower party ideas for under $100 Plus, we are here to give you a few ideas for an unforgettable party!
Without further ado, make sure to cross off the list the following items:
1. Mimosa bar
Yes, let’s start this off right: bring in the drinks! Here’s what you need for a great mimosa bar: a couple of champagne bottles, orange juice, grapefruit juice, strawberry juice and freshly diced fruit: mango, kiwis, strawberries, blueberries, cherries and the list goes on.
Prepare a few glasses (don’t be afraid to mix and match, borrow from friends and relatives if you have to), a nice table, maybe a tablecloth and a sign to advertise your little bubbly spot. Check out our ideas:
2. Pink lemonade
Of course, nobody says you can’t make regular lemonade, but the pink one will draw attention and be perfect for a bridal shower party. You can either prepare it in a large bowl or let everybody pour in their own cups or prepare separate bottles for every guest.
Whatever you decide to do, here’s how to obtain that flirty color: add strawberries to your regular lemonade, use equal parts of lemon and grapefruit juice or…use food coloring (not the best idea, but if you’re in a hurry…). Don’t forget to add some freshly cut peppermint leaves, lemon slices, honey and sugar and a big sign to draw people in.
Just take a look at it: doesn’t it look special?
3. Shimmering vases
We are so in love with this idea we can’t wait to try it as soon as possible! All you have to do is collect a bunch of glass bottles and mason jars, pour some shimmering paint inside them and shake until the paint covers the inner wall completely. Then, let them dry for a couple of days, add water and the bride-to-be’s favorites flowers. Usually, people go for peonies, roses and tulips, but you can do this with wild flowers, sunflowers, daisies and so on.
The key is to make sure the vases are different shapes and sizes to avoid a too symmetrical appearance. Of all the bridal shower party ideas, this could very well be our favorite!
4. Finger-size sandwiches
Eventually, your guests are going to get hungry, in which case finger-sized sandwiches would be a great idea. You could order pizza, but then again, don’t you do that any other day? Small sandwiches are special and whoever says they are not is so wrong! Here’s a smart tip: buy regular toast bread, use a cookie cutter to perfect the bread, add cucumbers, cheese, and chili and you’re done. Party food doesn’t have to be boring, right?
Another recipe: small pieces of bread, a tiny piece of bacon, corn and mayo (held in place by a toothpick, of course!). If you like mini-burgers, you could make some for the party. Almost every general store sells mini bread buns, so all you have to do is prepare some thin-grated cold slaw, a tiny meat paddy and assemble them. Of course, you can come up with your own recipes, so go wild!
5. Cute girly favors
Don’t let anyone go home without a fun gift! Again, you don’t have to spend too much money. Just buy a few bottles of nail polish, glue some tulle to their lids and add a fun tag with the bride’s name and everybody will be impressed with your work.
If your budget allows you, you can put together small sets of cosmetics: “pedicure in a jar”, “face treatment in a jar”, “spa in a jar” and the list goes on. For more bridal shower party ideas, scroll down and be amazed!
You would only have to buy two or three ingredients for every jar, so it’s really not that big of a deal. Just to give you an idea, we added a few pictures. And don’t forget to create cute tags with the bride and groom’s names and their wedding date.
6. A wedding dress cake
This would only be a fun way to surprise the bride (and pretty much everybody else, so let them take as many selfies as they want before you eat the cake). You could have it custom made at a local bakery or make it yourself. And this is how: make a regular cake and shape the top to look like a dome.
Cover it in a sheet of modeling chocolate or apply whipped cream. For the top, use modeling chocolate to sculpt the bust and when it’s done attach it to the skirt. Apply white sugar flowers here and there and your cake is done! It should look a lot like the pictures we added, but if it’s too difficult for you, just arrange some cupcakes in the shape of a wedding dress. As long as they are all white, you’re good!
7. The photo booth
Come on, this bridal shower deserves not only a photo booth, but also a selfie corner, so be prepared for both. You can use props (oversized lips, mustaches, eyeglasses, princess crowns etc.), flowers, magazines, chairs and pretty much anything you can think of. Also, make sure to ask a friend about bringing a good camera (great memories need great resolution) just in case not everybody owns a smartphone.
Take pictures and encourage everybody to use a specific hashtag when posting them online. This way, the bride-to-be will be able to keep track of them. And don’t forget to get your bridal shower face on!
8. Balloons
Balloons are such an inexpensive way to decorate a not so handsome part of the room! Plus, you could tie a balloon to every cupcake you are serving, create a balloon wall, use them for the photo booth and the possibilities are endless! Use helium to inflate them otherwise they will never leave the ground (since air is thicker than helium).
9. Mini-wedding cakes
If you have the chance (and money) to have them custom made, go for it! Otherwise, there’s no need to despair, we got you covered.
Here’s what to do: bake three types of cakes: one that’s white, another one that’s slightly pink and a really pink one. Using a round cookie cutter, create small circles. Apply butter cream between the three layers and a strawberry on top and that was all! This is the easiest way. However, we have three lovely examples for you:
10. Games
There are a few games you can play, but we are only going to talk about the… innocent ones. An idea would be to play “How well do you know the bride?”: write questions on different pieces of paper and let everybody draw one. If they answer correctly, give them candy. The person to give the most correct answers wins. You can’t have a bridal shower without a fun game, you just can’t!
Another game is “Beautify me”: you will be forming pairs. One of you will be blindfolded and giving the other one a makeover (or should I say a make-under?). At the end of the game, the girl with the worst makeup wins a bottle of wine (oh, she’ll need that wine!). If you have other games in mind, please share!
